Former Ravens teammates say Ray Rice deserves another shot in the NFL

Here’s what Smith told TMZ:
“Good people make mistakes,” Smith says … “I believe in second chances and I think society is supposed to be built on the idea that you can suffer consequences and come back… People sometimes want you to apologize a certain way, crying or all upset. He’s made things right with his wife and family and earned respect with his actions since the incident.”
“He’s a way better person than he showed on that tape.”

Smith isn’t the only guy who believes in Rice. According to a report by Clifton Brown at CSN, Derrick Mason (now with the Titans) says he hopes his team signs him:
“Your diehard fans that come there every week that have saw a lousy team over the last three or four years, they will come out and they will see a Ray Rice that is putting up numbers. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain.”
I have a feeling that sooner or later one team will be willing to roll the dice on Rice.
Jerry Jones, this is your moment.
