Falcons' rookie free agents include Georgia's Dawson, Mayes

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with 22 college free agents, including Georgia defensive linemen Josh Dawson and Chris Mayes.
Dawson, a defensive end, played in 51 games, including five starts, at Georgia. Mayes, a nose tackle, started in nine of 30 games.
The Falcons also agreed to terms with South Carolina defensive tackle Gerald Dixon Jr. and Kentucky defensive tackle Cory Johnson.
Four wide receivers in the group included: Aaje Johnson, Texas; David Richards, Arizona; Malachi Jones, Appalachian State; and J.D. McKissic of Arkansas State.
The Falcons also added South Carolina running back Brandon Wilds, Texas kicker Nick Rose and Florida defensive back Brian Poole.
The rookies, including six draft picks, were to report Thursday for a mini-camp Friday and Saturday.
