Ex-Jaguars defensive coordinator Babich lands new job with Chargers

Former Jacksonville Jaguars defensive coordinator Bob Babich, who was let go at the end of the season, was hired as linebackers coach by the San Diego Chargers on Tuesday, the team announced.

Babich will replace Mike Nolan, who the Chargers said "decided to pursue other opportunties."

Babich spent the past three seasons in charge of Jacksonville's defense. The Jaguars finished 31st in the league last season in points allowed per game, yielding an average of 28.

While Babich has quickly found new work, the Jagaurs have yet to name his replacement as defensive coordinator.
