Eli Rogers hauls in crazy TD vs Redskins on Monday Night Football (Video)
The Steelers wide receiver just caught one of the crazier touchdowns you will see in the NFL this season.
I’m sure that every NFL player has a picture in their head of what their first career touchdown will be. Maybe you get a fade route deep in the corner of the end zone and just barely get two feet down. Or, maybe the pass bounces off your teammates hands, then off your face, then into your hands.
Well, that’s how Eli Rogers’ first career touchdown went:
How did they complete this TD?!?
Off Sammie Coates' hands…and straight to Eli Rogers.

Nothing quite like catching a touchdown off your face, right? I think Rogers’ “awareness” rating in Madden might have to be bumped up a couple of points after this catch.
Rogers was an un-drafted rookie from Louisville in 2015 when he suffered a hairline fracture in his right foot two weeks into training camp. Now recovered from that injury, he’s the starting slot receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he’s looking great.
Rogers made a big mistake early on in the game, breaking off a route early, deflecting the ball and causing an interception. However, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger quickly approached him and seemed to do his best to calm the wideout’s nerves. Usually a mistake like this from a first-year player means they get to ride the bench for a while. Instead, Roethlisberger has been looking his way often since the mistake.
The reason that Rogers may be seeing so much work early on in this game is due to the fact that the Steelers are missing receivers Markus Wheaton and Martavis Bryant. Wheaton is out with a shoulder injury and Bryant was suspended by the NFL for the entire 2016 season.
There are plenty of extra targets to go around in the Pittsburgh offense so we’ll continue to see new faces getting the ball. Tight end Jesse James along with Rogers are just a couple of those faces.
