Eddie Lacy's status vs. Cowboys in question after missing practice Wednesday
The Dallas Cowboys could catch a huge break this week in their highly anticipated matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
Eddie Lacy is currently battling an ankle injury suffered in Week 5 against the New York Giants, and he’s no lock to play Sunday. Lacy isn’t practicing Wednesday because of the injury, bringing his status for the Cowboys game into question.
“We’re still evaluating some things,” Packers coach Mike McCarthy said before practice, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “We’ll see how Eddie moves around today in the rehab.”
As McCarthy said, Lacy is doing rehab work instead of practicing with the team. He has a short history of ankle injuries in his career, having dealt with one last season. In that instance, he was able to play the following week.
If Lacy is unable to play, the Packers would likely turn to the struggling James Starks, who’s averaging 1.8 yards per carry (42 yards on 24 carries). That’s not an ideal scenario, obviously, so the Packers have to hope Lacy will be good to go on Sunday.
