DT Brandon Mebane says he'll be ready for training camp
The Seattle Seahawks will get a big boost when training camp begins and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane is ready to rejoin the team.
Mebane missed the end of the 2014 season with a hamstring injury, but head coach Pete Carroll has been "thrilled" with Mebane's recovery.
Mebane was on 710 ESPN Seattle where he expressed optimism that he will be ready for the first day of training camp at the end of July.
"I’ll be back the first day of training camp," Mebane told 710 ESPN Seattle's Justin and Gee. "I could go now, but it’s really like no need to just jump out there and force the issue."
Mebane feels like this could be one of his best seasons ever. He is thrilled with how he feels so far this offseason.
"I feel great, man," said Mebane. "I’m at my playing weight already and I feel good. I feel real good."
Mebane isn't the only one that feels this could be a career year for the nine-year veteran. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin took to Twitter to express how impressed he has been with Mebane so far this offseason.
Watching him train all off season, @Mebane92 is in the best shape of his life and will have the best year of his career! Bet that!— Doug Baldwin Jr (@DougBaldwinJr) June 12, 2015
This is all very encouraging news for the Seahawks who rely on Mebane to help stop the run.
