DPD bettor's guide: Week 2 edition
The Cleveland Browns return home on Sunday to face the Baltimore Ravens. In addition to the Browns, which NFL games should bettors be looking at in Week 2?
Just like the Cleveland Browns, each of my Week 1 picks looked promising early in the third quarter – then reality set in.
The Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears and Jacksonville Jaguars each gagged making the final turn, falling short in covering the spread in their opening game defeats. My one winner, the Miami Dolphins at +10.5 should and could have well upset the mighty Seattle Seahawks at home, but fell short 12-10.
No games jump out in Week 2, but my Dawg Pound Daily editors never give a week off, so here goes:
As for the Browns, I had totally forgotten, but Josh McCown torched the Ravens twice last year. On Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium, look for McCown to throw for three touchdowns but for the Browns to lose in overtime on another blocked kick. While Cleveland will come up short, if you take the Browns +6.5 you will at least take some comfort from the loss.
Season record: 1-3.
