Dolphins C Pouncey (foot) returns to practice, could play Sunday
The Miami Dolphins were given a scare on Sunday when center Mike Pouncey was carted off the field and seen in a walking boot on the sideline after suffering a foot injury.
Fortunately, the injury doesn't appear to be serious and Pouncey is on track to play this week against the Baltimore Ravens. Pouncey was a limited participant at practice on Thursday and said his foot held up well.
He and the Dolphins will continue to see how he progresses leading up to the game, but it's certainly possible that he'll be in his usual spot on Sunday. Pouncey was reportedly non-committal when asked if he'll play this week, but the fact that he was able to take reps in practice is a good sign.
The Dolphins signed Jacques McClendon to the active roster earlier in the week as an insurance option for Pouncey. Rookie Jamil Douglas took over at center after Pouncey left the game but struggled with low snaps throughout the game. Miami certainly hopes it won't have to use either player at center this weekend.
