Did one heart-to-heart seal Winston's fate as the No. 1 pick?

No more speculation, no more talk about trading the No. 1 pick. It's all forward thinking at this point for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs chose their man and it was the former Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston.

While it had been rumored for quite a while that Winston could be the man for the Bucs, Mike Freeman from Bleacher Report pointed out one specific heart-to-heart conversation that may have sealed the deal.

Freeman took the following quote from what Winston had to say to the coaches and execs within Tampa's organization.

"According to several people familiar with the conversation, Winston said something like this: You will never see me get in trouble again. This is not a lie or me saying something you want to hear. This is the truth. I don't like what I became and I will be better. I promise you."

It's unknown if this was the final selling point, but apparently Winston was all-in with this conversation. Freeman explained more in-depth what the conversation included: "Winston admitted to his immaturity. He ticked down the incidents, one by one, with little prodding from the team. He took the blame for each. I'm told he talked about the sexual assault accusation as well. There was no stonewalling or evasion. It was all on the table."

It's a very interesting story and a great read. The Bucs did their research on Winston and the former Florida State quarterback never backed down from a question or concern from anyone within the organization.

It's been quite a ride for Winston and the Buccaneers, but now it's time to focus on winning some games in 2015.
