Dez Bryant pulls off ridiculous catch despite still recovering from foot surgery

Maybe the Dallas Cowboys shouldn't be so cautious with Dez Bryant's recovery from foot surgery, judging from what he did Wednesday. The star wide receiver pulled off a spectacular one-handed grab, looking like his old self.

But despite Bryant's exploits on the practice field, the Cowboys are sticking to their plan of moving slowly.

"We don't really like the word 'cautious,'" Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said, via ESPN. "We're just going to be deliberate with our players. Anybody who's coming off an injury we just got to make sure we're deliberate in bringing them back. Dez did some individual work [Tuesday]. He was really good his first day back ... We'll bump him up if we feel like we want to, but we don't anticipate him practicing fully at all in the minicamp, but hopefully he will get some productive work in."

Bryant had X-rays on his surgically repaired right foot last week and was cleared for more work on the practice field. Despite the team limiting his work load, Bryant is staying strong mentally.

"We're just going to take this thing day by day," Bryant said. "I feel good mentally and I think for me that's the most important thing."

Bryant definitely isn't letting the rehab affect his confidence. Late last month the perennial Pro Bowl wideout said he's looking to eclipse the career numbers he put up in 2014.

"Man, I'm not even trying to [get back] to 2014," Bryant said at the time. "I'm past that. I'm going to be better than that. I'm going to. The way we've been working, the way the coaches have been on us, the way we've been holding each other accountable, I think that alone is going to make us all be better than what we were in these past years."

Bryant, who had 88 catches for 1,320 yards and a league-leading 16 receiving touchdowns in 2014, is trying to bounce back from an injury-plagued 2015. He had career lows in receptions (31), receiving yards (401) and touchdowns (3) after suffering the foot injury in Week 1.
