Darren McFadden close to milestone

This Dallas Cowboys season has been a year to forget, but it has been a bit encouraging for one brand new Cowboy.

Darren McFadden, who signed with the Cowboys this offseason, could rush for 1,000 yards for just the second time in his eight year career.

Over the next three games, McFadden would just need 202 yards to surpass the mark.

Every running back gets excited when they near the milestone, especially if it has happened infrequently in their career. But when your team is just 4-9, winning some ball games is significantly more important to your morale.

"I would love to get 1,000 yards," McFadden told ESPN's Todd Archer. "But at the end of the day, it's a team sport, so I like to go out there and play to win."

Not many believed McFadden would perform at this level this season. Just the year prior with the Oakland Raiders, McFadden wasn't a consistent starter, and managed to gain just 534 yards. But McFadden has been given an increased workload with the Cowboys. The 28-year-old is on pace to set a career high in rushing attempts this year.
