Cris Carter: Even without Gronk, the Patriots are the best team in the NFL
With just three weeks left in the NFL regular season, history shows that the playoff field is already likely set, and there are only a few teams that have proven to be true Super Bowl contenders. All of the favorites have suffered recent setbacks, with the Cowboys and Seahawks losing in Week 14, while the Patriots adjust to life without Rob Gronkowski. So which team is currently the best in the NFL?
On Tuesday's episode of Undisputed, Hall of Famer Cris Carter said the Patriots' intangibles separate them from the rest of the league.
“You look at what they’ve done, being able to survive the four-game suspension at the beginning of the season, a rash of injuries, having Gronk now being on the rack for the rest of the year.
Their ability to develop players, and develop a system for the players that they have. [LeGarrette] Blount, being able to run him between the tackles. James White, being able to utilize him as a receiver. And they dominate time of possession and field position in games.
… For me, New England is the best team, and somebody’s going to have to beat them.”
