Cowboys Stadium has 2nd crowd of 100,000

More than 100,000 fans have packed Cowboys Stadium for a game for the second time this season.

A crowd of 100,621 was announced Sunday for the Dallas Cowboys' regular-season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In the regular-season opener Sept. 20 against the New York Giants in the debut of the nearly $1.2 billion stadium, the Cowboys set an NFL regular-season attendance record with a crowd of 105,121. That broke the previous mark of 103,467 between Arizona-San Francisco in Mexico City in 2005.

Both 100,000-plus crowds at Cowboys Stadium included thousands of fans in standing-room party plazas at either end of the stadium that has about 75,000 seats.

The record for an NFL game in the United States was 103,985 for the Super Bowl between Steelers and Rams at the Rose Bowl in January 1980. The largest crowd to watch any NFL game was 112,376 in a preseason matchup between the Cowboys and Houston Oilers in Mexico City in 1994.
