Cowboys sign fourth-round pick, linebacker Damien Wilson

The Dallas Cowboys are one more step closer to getting every first-round draft pick under contract. On Thursday, the team signed fourth-round draft pick linebacker Damien Wilson out of the University of Minnesota.

Wilson was a model of consistency in 2014, and he led his team with 119 tackles. His addition adds to the Cowboys' recent track record of drafting Big Ten conference linebackers. Wilson joins Sean Lee and Anthony Hitchens in that regard.

Keep an eye on Wilson as we move forward with the Cowboys' offseason training program. According to Jon Machota of the Dallas News, Wilson worked alongside veteran Jasper Brinkley as the first-team linebackers when the Cowboys were in their nickel defense. After the team let linebackers Bruce Carter and Justin Durant walk in free agency, the linebacker position has more roles up for grabs than any other spot along the Cowboys' defense.
