Cowboys owner clarifies his remark about Parcells
Jerry Jones wants Cowboys fans to know he has ``special'' feelings toward Bill Parcells, despite a secretly recorded conversation in which he's heard saying otherwise.
Speaking for the first time since a 47-second, cell-phone video hit the Internet, Jones said anyone who considered his remark about Parcells as being negative took it out of context.
``If I say to somebody that 'You're not worth a flip,' then that means I think you're pretty good, certainly if I follow up with, 'I love you,''' Jones told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram at a charity function Thursday.
Jones said the release of the video was a reminder that he needs to be more guarded.
He also clarified remarks he made about Tim Tebow not having a spot on the Cowboys. Dallas already has three quarterbacks, and Jones has said for months he's not drafting a quarterback.
``I have all the respect in the world for what he's accomplished,'' Jones said. ``He's an outstanding young man, and he has the greatest opportunity in the world (to play) in the National Football League.''
