Cowboys' Christine Michael takes first-team RB reps at practice

It looks like quarterback Matt Cassel will not be the only new starting offensive player for the Dallas Cowboys when they come out of their bye week. According to Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com, running back Christine Michael took the majority of first-team offensive snaps during Monday's practice.

The Cowboys are looking for a spark after the running game has struggled with consistency through the first five games. Joseph Randle has been operating as the early down back, but he has averaged just 3.9 yards per carry on the season.

Michael is a former 2013 second-round Seattle Seahawks draft pick with size, power and explosion. At 220 pounds, Michael put together an impressive NFL Combine that included a 43-inch vertical and a 10-foot-5 broad jump.

Michael possesses unique athleticism for the position, but the Seattle Seahawks traded him to the Cowboys after he failed to fit in for them both on and off the field. He has rushed for 259 yards on 54 career carries with zero touchdowns.
