Commissioner Goodell to hold news conference Friday

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will hold a news conference 3 p.m. ET on Friday to discuss domestic violence issues and the league's personal-conduct policy.

Goodell hasn't spoken publicly since Sept. 10, when he was interviewed by CBS regarding the way the league handled the investigation into the Ray Rice domestic dispute.

Earlier Friday, the league announced a partnership with a domestic violence hotline and a sexual violence resource center. In a memo to all 32 teams, Goodell said this partnership will "enable both the (National Domestic Violence Hotline) and (National Sexual Violence Resource Center) to help more people affected by domestic violence and sexual assault."

Since Goodell's last public appearance, Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson was indicted on charges of negligent injury to a child in Texas. Peterson was placed on the Exempt/Commissioner's Permission list, as was Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy, who is appealing a July conviction of assaulting a female and communicating threats.

This week, the Arizona Cardinals deactivated running back Jonathan Dwyer, who was arrested on aggravated assault charges, from all team activities.
