When the supplemental draft picks were dished out on Sunday, we finally figured out which team will be the lucky recipients of Mr. Irrelevant — the Indianapolis Colts.

This is the second consecutive year the Colts will be picking last in the NFL draft. In 2012, they took Northern Illinois quarterback Chandler Harnish with the 253rd pick. This year, the last pick will be No. 254.

The draft begins on April 25, but Mr. Irrelevant will have to wait until April 27 to hear his name called. Past notable Mr. Irrelevants include long-time Chiefs quarterback Bill Kenney, Patriots linebacker/special teamer Marty Moore and current Chiefs kicker Ryan Succop. Perhaps the strangest Mr. Irrelevant was former two-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Walker — Jalen Rose‘s father. Walker was taken No. 445 in the 17th round despite never playing college football.

Whoever gets chosen last in 2013 will take part in Irrelevant Week, founded by Newport Beach, Calif., businessman and former NFL player, Paul Salata.

“Whoever he is, Mr. Irrelevant will enjoy a memorable week in Newport Beach as part of our annual tradition of doing something nice for someone for no reason,” Salata said.

The “winner” will receive the Lowsman Trophy during his week-long celebration in Newport. Irrelevant Week, inc. recognizes and supports national and local charities that provide for undeserved, underprivileged or at-risk youth and adults in the Newport community.
