Nate Davis' attempt to make the Colts roster has ended.
Indianapolis waived the former Ball State quarterback Monday, just two days after he played sparingly in Saturday's 33-10 loss to St. Louis. Davis was 3 of 7 for 36 yards in the game.
Davis was best known for leading Ball State to back-to-back bowl games for the first time in school history. He was 678 of 1,124 for 9,223 yards and 74 touchdowns in three seasons with the Cardinals. He left school after his junior year to enter the draft and was San Francisco's fifth round pick in 2009. He played in San Francisco as a rookie and spent some time in Seattle last season.
