Colts put Thomas on injured reserve

The Colts have placed left guard Donald Thomas on injured reserve and waived fullback Dan Moore.

Thomas tore a quad tendon in his right leg during the first quarter of Sunday's 24-20 loss to Miami. Coach Chuck Pagano said Monday that Thomas would undergo season-ending surgery. He is expected to be replaced in Indy's lineup by rookie Hugh Thornton, a third-round draft pick.

Moore signed with the Colts as an undrafted rookie in April after playing at Montana. He injured his shoulder early in training camp and was put on injured reserve after being waived Aug. 19 and clearing waivers.

The Colts announced the moves on Tuesday.
