Colts place QB Charlie Whitehurst on injured reserve
The Indianapolis Colts need a lot of things to break their way if they're going to make the postseason, and they'll most likely have to do it with a new quarterback.

With Whitehurst out, the Colts could be forced to turn to a street free agent to get the start in week 17. Original second string quarterback Matt Hasselbeck's status for this week is trending in the opposite direction, and it seems unlikely that the team will turn to Andrew Luck.
Next up on the roster is Stephen Morris -- the Colts signed him to their active roster off of the Philadelphia Eagles' roster last week. They will also likely look to the free agent market for someone who can compete with Morris to get the start this week.
