Colts hire Giants assistant Herrmann as linebackers coach
The Indianapolis Colts continued to fill vacancies on new defensive coordinator Ted Monachino's staff with the hiring of New York Giants assistant Jim Herrmann as linebackers coach on Wednesday.
The move was first reported by FOXSports.com's Alex Marvez.
Herrmann spent the last seven seasons coaching linebackers for the Giants and won a Super Bowl as part of Tom Coughlin's staff in 2011.
Prior to his stint with the Giants, Herrmann spent three years coaching linebackers for the New York Jets and 20 years as an assistant at the University of Michigan, including nine as defensive coordinator.
Herrmann replaces Jeff FitzGerald, who was fired last week after four seasons with the Colts.
