Colts downgrade Powers to doubtful

Published Jan. 23, 2010 9:47 p.m. ET

Colts cornerback Jerraud Powers has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Jets.

Powers started 13 times this season, including last week's divisional-round game against Baltimore. But the rookie did not practice all week after appearing to injure his left foot against the Ravens.

If Powers does not play Sunday, rookie Jacob Lacey is expected to take his place.

Lacey made nine starts this season, including the final three regular-season games when Powers was out with a hamstring injury. Lacey is fifth on the Colts with 78 tackles and second with three interceptions - one of which he returned for a TD.

The only other Indy player expected to sit out is kicker Adam Vinatieri.
