Chris Clark bounces back as Broncos No. 1 right tackle
At this point, Chris Clark is like the Broncos' bad penny. He keeps popping up everywhere -- and always ends up as a starting tackle in Denver somehow.
"I won't (leave)," Clark told 9News Denver. "I feel like I'm destined to be here. I always felt growing up that if I was going to one day play in the league it would be with the Denver Broncos."
Clark is back where he says he's destined to be. He lined up with the first-team offense at right tackle throughout OTAs and minicamp and said he's thankful for the opportunity
It could be a short-lived chance if he doesn't improve. Clark was benched five games into the season after proving he couldn't handle power rushers on that same right side.
In head coach Gary Kubiak's new zone-blocking scheme, though, Clark thinks he'll thrive.
"It just so happened we're going back to what they're used to doing," he said. "Smaller linemen, quick, which is my expertise. I'm licking my chops right now."
Added Clark: "I'm feeling really good, I'm ready to go. I don't worry about having something to prove to anybody, but I'm ready to prove myself that I know I can play this game at right tackle."
