Chiefs get Dee Ford, Jeremy Maclin back at practice
The Kansas City Chiefs are finally getting healthier with Dee Ford, Jeremy Maclin and Steven Nelson coming back to practice on Wednesday.
After winning on Sunday over the Denver Broncos, there are plenty of good feelings to have toward the Chiefs. Now, there are a few more. Head coach Andy Reid announced that Kansas City will see corner Steven Nelson, outside linebacker Dee Ford and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin at practice after missing all of them last weekend.
The only players who won’t be practicing are defensive linemen Jaye Howard and Dontari Poe. Poe is out with back spasms, the same problem that knocked him out of Sunday’s game. Howard is still dealing with a bad hip flexor.
Also worth noting is the availability of Derrick Johnson and Justin Houston. Both had to leave the game briefly, and yet neither will be held out of practice today. Houston had some sort of a shoulder ailment in the first half, while Johnson has been dealing with bad hamstring/Achilles issues for much of the last month.
If Kansas City can finally get healthy, this would be a huge opportunity for the Chiefs down the stretch. Win out, and they have at least the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Provided they beat the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night of Week 14, and they probably can sustain a loss and still get there.
