Chargers place English on IR, sign Robinson

The San Diego Chargers have placed outside linebacker Larry English on injured reserve with a season-ending pectoral injury.

To take his spot on the roster, the Chargers signed outside linebacker Adrian Robinson. The moves were made Tuesday.

English was hurt while sacking Peyton Manning during Sunday's 28-20 loss to Denver. He played in all nine games and started the last five games after taking over for injured Dwight Freeney. English had 19 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks.

Robinson played in six games for Denver before being waived Oct. 15. He originally signed with Pittsburgh as an undrafted rookie in 2012 and played in 12 games, all on special teams. He was traded to Philadelphia in August and waived on Sept. 1.
