Chargers, DL Corey Liuget agree on multi-year extension
The Chargers have agreed on a long-term deal with one of their star defenders -- and it's not Eric Weddle.
The team announced they've inked defensive lineman Cory Liuget to a multi-year contract extension on Tuesday. On Monday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport disclosed that this new deal is for five years and over $50 million, including $30 million in guarnanteed money.

Rapoport reported last week that the Bolts were favoring Liuget over more established players like Weddle and quarterback Philip Rivers last week. Luiget inks a new deal before either of those veterans.
That must mean San Diego values Liuget as a big part of their future. The 2011 first-round pick has shown enough prowess in four years to justify a big new contract.
