Cardinals reportedly open contract talks with Carson Palmer
The Arizona Cardinals have begun contract talks with veteran quarterback Carson Palmer, according to the Arizona Republic.
Palmer, who has missed three games this season after suffering a nerve injury in his right shoulder in Week 1, will turn 35 in December.
"I won't get into specific points of the negotiations but we've had some dialogue with (Palmer's agent) Dave Dunn," Arizona general manager Steve Keim told the paper. "He (Palmer) has done a great job for us."
Palmer, who is in second season with the Cardinals after being traded by the Raiders, originally signed a three-year deal but the final year (2015) is voided if he is on Arizona's roster five business days after Super Bowl XLIX.
Palmer has thrown for 554 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in the two games he's played, both won by the Cardinals.
