TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) The Arizona Cardinals have released running back Kerwynn Williams and made three practice-squad moves.

Williams was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster last week after an injury sidelined Andre Ellington. Ellington remains out, leaving the Cardinals with three running backs - Chris Johnson, rookie David Johnson and Stephan Taylor.

Arizona signed running back Mike Gillislee to the practice squad. Gillislee played in three games for Miami as a rookie two years ago but missed all of last season due to injury. He was released by the Dolphins in their final roster cuts on Sept. 5.

The Cardinals released two players from the practice squad - tight end Brandon Bostick and guard Anthony Steen.
