Broncos WR Cody Latimer vows to see the field this season

Cody Latimer looks at his stat line from last season and just shakes his head.

He was just a rookie then. Now far more comfortable as a pro receiver, the second-year Bronco refuses to let another sub-par season happen.

"Last year was a disappointment to myself. I hated not being on that field," Latimer told The Denver Post. "I took it as an oath of mine. This year I'm going to get on that field. I'm going to study extra and do whatever I need to do."

The Indiana product caught just two passes in 2014. He was log-jammed behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, sure, but Latimer failed to keep up with his super-cerebral quarterback.

He worked out with Peyton Manning this spring to remedy that. And this summer, he'll be earning all of Thomas' reps as the franchise player holds out.

Those two factors can lead to a breakout season for Latimer. He's sure of it.

"I didn't have the opportunity to get on the field because I wasn't doing my job," Latimer said. "This year, they'll know who I am."
