Broncos vs Panthers: Week 1 Predictions
Broncos vs. Panthers will kick off the NFL’s newest regular season tonight.
If the first time we saw Broncos vs. Panthers in Super Bowl 50 didn’t excite you too much, there are plenty of things to watch in the sequel.
While there are players that weren’t in uniform then that are healthy now, the biggest omission will be Peyton Manning.
Although not contributing too much in the Super Bowl against Carolina, Manning’s legacy ending with a silver lining and a Lombardi trophy.
Not to mention spoiling Cam Newton’s mood going into the biggest game of his life.
Instead of Manning, Carolina’s defense will be attempting to stop Trevor Siemian.
Not a familiar name? Because it’s not.
Not yet, anyway.

Siemian has only taken one professional snap with the Broncos, which was a knee against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Yeah, that’s who they turned their offense over to.
Progression from Siemian throughout the season is key to any success down the road for Denver.

As for Carolina, this is all about getting revenge after being baffled in Super Bowl 50.
This time around, Cam Newton will have an explosive receiver in Kelvin Benjamin available instead of sidelined.
The reason this is an important factor for Thursday’s game is that Newton can be much more deadly when everyone remains available to play.
Newton’s response to losing in the Super Bowl was as you might think it’d be.
Quick, pithy, and out the door.
Now Newton can move forward from the loss as long as he learns from his mistakes in the Super Bowl.
One notable problem that Newton hopefully worked on was going after loose balls.
If he had made a better decision to fall on a fumble late in the game, we might be talking about the Panthers being the defending champs instead of Denver.
But that’s history, so we’ll leave it at that.
In tonight’s case, Carolina is favored, but be careful treading into those waters.
Not for sake of being called a bandwagoner, but instead because Trevor Siemian could end up being dangerous.
And we all know what happens when a QB deep in the depth chart gets underestimated.
