Broncos thin at receiver for finale against K.C.

Published Jan. 3, 2010 8:23 p.m. ET

The Denver Broncos have gone into their season finale against Kansas City with a depleted receiving corps after deactivating Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal and Tony Scheffler.

Royal is out with a neck injury, while Marshall and Scheffler are benched by coach Josh McDaniels for disciplinary reasons for a game with a playoff berth on the line.

That leaves only Jabar Gaffney, Brandon Stokley, Brandon Lloyd and Matt Willis at wideout. The four have combined for 58 catches and five touchdowns this season, about half of what Marshall has.

Willis was promoted from the practice squad Saturday and Lloyd played in his first game for the Broncos last weekend.

The Broncos also have made running back LaMont Jordan inactive, along with cornerback Tony Carter.
