Brandon Marshall reportedly to be active, limited
The New York Jets are visiting the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon, but their biggest weapon might be curtailed.
In a report on Sunday morning, ESPN insider Adam Schefter stated that Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall is expected to be active, despite having injuries to both his knee and toe. However, Marshall is not thought to be 100 percent, and will be limited throughout the contest.
If that is the case, it’s a huge break for a Chiefs team that needs one. Marshall is one of the best receivers in the NFL, and while Eric Decker and Quincy Enunwa are good players, they don’t have the game-changing effect of Marshall.
Should Marshall be on the sideline for most of the day, look for New York to utilize Matt Forte even more than it already has this year. Through two games, Forte has rushed for 196 yards, albeit on a middling 3.8 yards per carry. He also have seven receptions. Marshall has caught nine passes for 133 yards, while Enunwa leads the team with 13 catches and 146 yards. Decker comes in with just eight receptions, but a team-best 163 yards and two touchdowns.
Kansas City desperately needs to win on Sunday. After this, the Chiefs see a visit to Pittsburgh on Sunday Night Football to play the undefeated Steelers. After that, Kansas City has a week off before traveling to take on the Oakland Raiders. A loss here, and things get ugly in a hurry.
