Boston TV station cleverly measures snowfall using heights of local athletes

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 12:54 p.m. ET

Two things Boston has plenty of are sports and snow, so why not find some way to combine the two?

WCVB sure did.

The ABC affiliate station created a graphic during the city's latest winter storm Monday that used local athletes to measure snow totals. After 74 inches of the white stuff (as of Monday afternoon), 5-foot-9 Boston Bruins winger Brad Marchand and 5-foot-11 New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola were completely buried.

Boston could soon reach Kelly Olynyk levels, though, as yet another storm (unfortunately) might bring an additional foot of snow to the city by the weekend.
