Bills QB Taylor injures shoulder, Ryan has 'no idea' on Week 12 status
The Buffalo Bills fell to 5-5 after losing to the New England Patriots, 20-13, on Monday night, dropping them from their previously-held wild-card berth. The defense played extremely well aside from a few gaffes, but the offense was unable to keep pace with Tom Brady and company.
To add insult to injury, Tyrod Taylor hurt his shoulder late in the game and is a question mark for the team's upcoming game. The injury occurred on the second-to-last series of the game, though he never came out of the game. EJ Manuel warmed up on the sidelines but didn't take Taylor's place, which is somewhat of a good sign.
After the game, Rex Ryan didn't sound optimistic of Taylor's status for the Bills' Week 12 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
"I have no idea," Ryan said when asked if Taylor would play, via Matthew Fairburn of Syracuse.com. "I hope he's ready."
When the injury occurred, Ryan wasn't sure of the severity, but he wanted to make sure Manuel was ready just in case Taylor couldn't continue.
"When I saw what you guys saw with the shoulder I wanted to make sure my kid was OK," Ryan said. "I wasn't going to put him out there if I had ever felt he wasn't OK and I wanted assurance that he was, but I made sure EJ was ready to go in there."
Unfortunately, Taylor wasn't the only Bills player to get hurt in the game. Starting guard John Miller hurt his ankle early and was unable to return. Mario Williams left the game with a foot injury and will have an MRI on Tuesday to determine the severity, while Charles Clay injured his neck in the fourth quarter.
After finally getting healthy, the Bills are hurting once again. The hope is that none of the injuries are particularly serious with a key matchup against the Chiefs coming up.
