Bills DE Williams' injured foot OK
A second opinion on Buffalo Bills defensive end Mario Williams' foot revealed no apparent serious injury, a source told FOX Sports.
Williams, who is in the second year of a monster $96 million contract, left camp on Monday to have the foot checked out after complaining of soreness. Bills coach Doug Marrone didn't sound too alarmed at the time, saying, "We're going to make sure that everything is fine."
While the source didn't discuss specifics of what the second opinion revealed, Williams doesn't seem to be in danger of missing any significant time after resting the foot a bit.
"He should be fine," the source said.
Marrone grew frustrated after facing a second consecutive day of questions on Williams, including five on Tuesday.
The first-year coach cut off a reporter to announce he won't answer any more questions regarding Williams until he receives a medical report from team doctors.
"For me to speculate, I never speculate until I hear from the medical staff," Marrone said. "And I get frustrated, honestly, when it gets to a point where I feel like I've tried to explain myself in how I handle injuries, OK? I've answered the questions, and you keep coming at me, all right?"
The Bills made a big splash in free agency in March 2012, by signing Williams to a six-year contract.
Williams, however, had an inconsistent season, and was bothered by an injured left wrist, which he had surgically repaired during the team's bye week off in late October.
He finished the season with a team-leading 10 sacks -- seven of them coming after he had the operation.
