Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, linebacker James Farrior and wide receivers Hines Ward and Arnaz Battle have been selected captains of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

This is the eighth straight year Farrior has been a defensive captain and the seventh straight year Ward has been elected offensive co-captain. Roethlisberger served as a co-captain in 2008 and 2009. Battle will captain the special teams after making the Steelers as the team's sixth receiver.

The Steelers also completed their practice squad: RB John Clay, WR Tyler Grisham, TE Jamie McCoy, OL Trevis Turner and John Malecki, DL Corbin Bryant, LB Mortty Ivy and CB Da'Mon Cromartie-Smith.

Coach Mike Tomlin says he expects the defending AFC champions to be at full strength when they open the season in Baltimore next Sunday.
