CINCINNATI (AP) The Bengals have placed defensive tackle Marcus Hardison on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, ending his season.

Hardison was a fourth-round pick last year, when he was slowed by a knee injury and wasn't active for games. He got hurt in the third preseason game.

The Bengals also put linebacker Vontaze Burfict on the suspended list as they got down to the 53-man roster limit Saturday. Burfict got a three-game suspension from the NFL for his hit on Steelers receiver Antonio Brown during the playoffs. He can't be with the team during the suspension.

Cincinnati released veteran cornerback Chykie Brown and waived 18 players, most of them rookies.
