The Chicago Bears have signed quarterback Matt Gutierrez to a reserve/future contract.

He spent part of the preseason with Chicago and has played sparingly since he entered the league with New England in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of Idaho State.

He appeared in five games with the Patriots his rookie year and attempted one pass, completing a 15-yarder. He also appeared in one game for Kansas City in 2009.
