Bears release longtime kicker Robbie Gould

Published Sep. 4, 2016 9:46 p.m. ET

Robbie Gould's 11-year run with the Chicago Bears is coming to an end. The Bears released the veteran kicker, who has spent his entire career with the franchise, Sunday.

Gould has hit 85.4 percent of his field-goal attempts during his career and converted 33 of 39 of those kicks last year. But Gould, who would've counted $3 million against the cap in 2016, reportedly struggled in recent practices.

The move leaves the Bears without a veteran kicker on their roster.
