Bears OLB McPhee: Recent opponents 'wanted it more than us'

The Chicago Bears lost their third game in a row on Sunday, when they fell to the Minnesota Vikings in a 38-17 decision on the road. Before this three-game losing streak, the Bears were one game under a .500 winning percentage and positioning themselves for a late playoff run.

Outside linebacker Pernell McPhee said Chicago's last three opponents simply wanted to win more than the Bears did.

Success is a thing that a lot of people can’t take. And I’m not saying we can’t take it, [but] it’s just when we get success, we have to know when it’s there, and we got to keep pushing forward. I don’t think that’s the case.

We had a chance to make the playoffs, and other teams we played against got a chance to make the playoffs, and they wanted it more than us.

That’s the biggest factor why we lost the last three.

After beating the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving, the Bears have lost to the San Francisco 49ers, Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings. Although the 49ers game went to overtime and the Redskins game was decided by a field goal, the Bears completely fell apart against the Vikings. They hadn't lost that badly since the Seattle Seahawks shut them out in Week 3.

Head coach John Fox has two games left to turn things around. His Bears are 5-9 through Week 15, so there's not a lot of time to inspire hope for the future.
