Published Dec. 21, 2014 12:17 p.m. ET

CHICAGO (AP) Chicago Bears right guard Kyle Long is inactive for Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions because of a hip injury.

Long did not appear on the injury report until Friday, when he was limited in practice and listed as questionable. He had started all 14 games.

With Long out, Michael Ola shifts from left guard to right guard and Ryan Groy starts at left guard.

Kicker Robbie Gould (right quadriceps) and safety Chris Conte (back) are inactive. Jay Feely is replacing Gould.

For the Lions, Cornelius Lucas is starting over LaAdrian Waddle at right tackle. Waddle, who injured his left knee in last week's win over Minnesota, is not on the inactive list.

Defensive tackle Nick Fairley (knee) is missing his seventh straight game.
