BC rusher Montel Harris to miss game after surgery
Running back Montel Harris will miss Boston College's final regular-season game following arthroscopic knee surgery.
Harris, the nation's 11th leading rusher with an average of 113 yards per game, rushed 24 times for 114 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-13 win over Virginia before leaving with a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. The victory made the Eagles (6-5, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) eligible for a bowl game.
They visit Syracuse on Saturday. There was no word on whether Harris would be available for postseason play after Monday's operation.
Against Virginia, Harris surpassed 100 yards for the eighth time this season and moved into second place ahead of Mike Cloud in school history with 3,600 yards rushing. Derrick Knight ('03) has 3,725.
