Barwin hopes Brady's suspension is reduced to two games
Philadelphia Eagles outside linebacker Connor Barwin is hoping that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's suspension gets reduced after the appeal process. However, Barwin's preference has nothing to do with whether or not he believes Brady deserves to see it reduced. Barwin looks at the situation strictly as how it will affect the Eagles.
When told that Brady is currently set to miss the Patriots' game against the Dallas Cowboys, Barwin was quick to offer an opinion on the suspension.
"If that's the case," Barwin said to 94WIP. "I'm rooting for two games!"
When pressed to offer a more serious take on the situation, Barwin passed.
"I don't really have many thoughts about it," Barwin. "I mean, they had to do something so obviously they game him [Brady] four games. I haven't really followed it because whenever you turn the TV on they're talking about, so I turn it off. But, four games is what I thought he would probably get. And then since maybe the balls have a big effect on the game, it'll probably get appealed and only be two games."
Although mostly said in jest, Barwin does have a point. If the division rival Cowboys have to face the Patriots with Brady, that will offer the Eagles a competitive advantage in their quest to have the best record in the NFC East.
