Bad tipper or bad waiter? Eagles star RB McCoy strikes back

Philadelphia Eagles two-time All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy has never shown fear in the face of oncoming tacklers, so why would you expect him to duck public criticism?

Earlier this week McCoy was called out on Twitter over a paltry tip of just 20 cents on a $61.56 bill at a local Philly burger-eatery.

McCoy later alluded to the tweet, according to Philly.com writer Les Bowen on Monday. On Tuesday, the owner of the restaurant -- named PYT -- publicly admitted green-lighting the sharing of a picture of the tip online. But the owner, Tommy Up, defended the decision on the restaurant's Facebook page, calling McCoy and his group "verbally abusive" and "insulting."

On Thursday, the Eagles star opened up and shared his side of the tip gone wild.

"The 20-cent tip was kind of a statement," McCoy said in front of reporters Thursday afternoon at a scheduled press conference. "I didn't do anything wrong and if I had to do it again, I'd do it the same way."

"Just to be honest, like I'm always, I tip on my service. I think there's a difference between good service and bad service or just having a bad day. There's a big difference with just being rude and disrespectful. That's how that went," McCoy said.
