Atlanta Falcons unsure on likelihood of re-signing Prince Shembo

After the Atlanta Falcons chose to release Prince Shembo on May 29 when he was arrested on felony animal cruelty charges, it's unlikely that many believed the team would consider re-signing him.

Sometimes, though, things seem to change in the blink of an eye. Less than three months after Shembo's release, head coach Dan Quinn wouldn't rule out re-signing the linebacker, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of

“I’m sure that we will, but general manager Thomas (Dimitroff) and I have not gotten together on that, at this point,” Falcons coach Dan Quinn told Ledbetter on Thursday. “But I don’t have a comment one way or another on that.”

It's a pretty interesting scenario, as Shembo pleaded to a misdemeanor and a fine, leaving him as a free agent currently. While it's unknown as to whether or not he'd face discipline from the league, it'll be worth watching to see if Atlanta chooses to bring back Shembo this offseason .
