Arians: Cardinals G Iupati a little stiff but otherwise fine

Arizona Cardinals guard Mike Iupati has been listed as day-to-day following a scary collision in which he was carted off the field in Seattle on Sunday night.

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians on Monday said Iupati was a little stiff but otherwise fine and will be placed in the league's concussion protocol just to be safe. Arians added that there's a possibility Iupati could play this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Iupati was injured when he absorbed a shoulder to the helmet from Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor in Arizona's 39-32 victory. The 6-foot-5, 331-pound tackle was carted off the field by ambulance, but a CT scan and MRI exam both came back normal, allowing Iupati to fly back with the team.

Arians' words echoed the comments of Cardinals general manager Steve Keim, who earlier Monday told an Arizona radio station that the three-time Pro Bowl guard escaped serious injury from the jarring hit.

“He’s pretty sore, but thank goodness there were no major issues from an injury standpoint,” Keim said.
