TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) A person with knowledge of the situation says the Arizona Cardinals have given defensive tackle Frostee Rucker a one-year extension, keeping him under contract through the 2016 season.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Monday because the team has not officially announced the deal.

Rucker filled in last season after Darnell Dockett sustained a season-ending knee injury in training camp.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound Rucker appeared in 15 games, eight as a starter. Rucker had one of the best seasons of his nine years in the NFL with a career-high five sacks and a team-high 14 tackles for loss. He had 37 tackles and tied his career best with two forced fumbles.
