Andy Reid will root for his friend 'Skipper' and the Kansas City Royals

Andy Reid's team got some welcome support from their more successful baseball-playing brethren on Sunday.

The Chiefs coach is returning the favor by backing the hometown Royals against the visiting New York Mets in the World Series. Kauffman Stadium, a parking lot away from Arrowhead, hosts Game 1 on Tuesday night.

"I look forward to seeing them kick this thing off here in a couple days," Reid told reporters.

He's no fair-weather fan, though. The Chiefs head coach has been a regular at Royals practices since he came to K.C. in 2013. He even trekked to see manager Ned Yost -- or as Reid calls him, Skipper -- at spring training.

It'll be tough for Reid and the Chiefs to take in the first few ball games. They'll be in London during the heart of the World Series.
