Andy Reid wanted Derek Carr on the Chiefs, but had Alex Smith

Andy Reid wasted no time wheeling and dealing for Alex Smith when he arrived in Kansas City.
He might be regretting that hasty move now. Just listen to what the Kansas City Chiefs' coach told Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr at the Pro Bowl last week:
Andy Reid: I would've taken you, but I had just taken Alex (Smith).@derekcarrqb's response: ? https://t.co/UgTzfwKzfe

Reid landed Smith in a swap for two second-rounders in 2013. He could've held onto those picks another year and grabbed Carr, an early second-round selection in 2014.
Patience might've proved to be the wiser move. Carr connected with Chiefs star Travis Kelce on Sunday to give Kansas Citians the ultimate "what-if" scenario:
So, @derekcarrqb likes having a @tkelce.
